All Orders

When you order a print, the photo will be cropped to match the print size ordered, professionally retouched and given any custom special effects or treatments requested.  Because this process can take up to a week before the photo is sent to the lab, please be patient and allow extra time for delivery.  The results will be worth the wait.

Please take a moment to read the sections below for more detailed information about the process.

Packages

The packages shown represent a only a sample of what's available.  If you have a combination of sizes of the same photo that you'd like to see made into a package, please email us with your request.  Packages are generally priced at approximately 80% of the total of the individual sizes that make up the package.  This represents a substantial savings.  Packages consist of prints and enlargements only.

Print Size and Cropping

The photos you see may not match the aspect ratio of the print you order. All photos are displayed at a 2:3 aspect ratio, which was the standard for 35mm photography and has been adopted by most professional digital SLR cameras today. It will yield traditional 4x6 prints without alteration, as well as other sizes with the same aspect ratio such as 6x9, 8x12, etc. If the ratio of the print you order is different from this ratio (for example 5x7 or 8x10) the photo will be cropped to match the ratio of the photo your order.  Many other print sizes are available as well as metallic prints.  Please email us to request a list.

Retouching

Retouching is performed on an as-needed basis and may include some or all of the following:

Custom Fine Art Prints

When you order a Fine Art Print, the photos are printed by Rich Taylor Photography in our lab and delivered directly to you.  They do not go through an outside lab.  Currently, the prints are made on an eight-color professional-grade HP Photosmart Pro B9180 printer.  The inks are pigment based, and are certified by Wilhelm Imaging Research to last at least 100 years without fading.

We use primarily two papers, Museo Silver Rag and Museo MAX manufactured by Crane.   Crane has been providing the paper used to print United States currency since the 1800s.  These papers are cold-pressed cotton rag and represent the ultimate in inkjet paper.  Museo Silver Rag is semi-gloss and we use it exclusively for black and white prints.  Museo MAX is a matte paper that we use for our color prints.

Rather than try to list every print size available, only a couple are listed.  If you have a specific size in mind, contact us and we will add your requested size to the list so that you can place the order.  Custom fine art prints are priced at $0.50 per square inch.
